Modern Psych is a collection of beautifully recorded modern psychedelic drum tracks, loops and samples.
Taking influence from bands such as Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pond and Melody’s Echo Chamber, Modern Psych packs in over 150 loops and one shots, all recorded to the highest possible standard at London’s The Pool Studio .We used an incredible 1970s Slingerland kit, fully mixed up with The Pool’s vast collection of esoteric microphones, going through the studio’s rare vintage Neve console. The kit was set up right in the middle of the huge live room to capture the signature Pool drum sound. For some extra squelchy snare sounds we fired up the Thermionic Culture Vulture to get some analogue crunch. Behind the sticks once more was James Pinfield-Wells, with production duo Jim & Rob Homes manning the console.
