Features & Additional information
The German Spinet 1767 library is a truly unique treasure! 🎶 Featuring one of the rare preserved original German spinets crafted by Johann Heinrich Silbermann, this instrument captures an incredibly rich, bell-like treble sound with a full-bodied resonance that’s hard to find in modern instruments. 😍 It was built in Strasbourg in 1767 and remains in fantastic playable condition at the Germanische Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg.
Since spinets (like harpsichords) aren’t touch-sensitive, you won’t get dynamic changes like a piano, but the variety of resonances each time you strike a key makes each note uniquely beautiful. 🎹 To avoid sounding too repetitive, they’ve recorded 8 variations of each note to ensure every play feels fresh. The sound of key releases is also captured to provide a more realistic experience. 🎶
This library is packed with over 700 individual recordings, all captured in the acoustically rich Aufseß-Saal of the museum using high-quality DS-audio equipment. Plus, you can dive deeper into the instrument’s history through an essay by Dr. Frank Bär. 📖
It’s a fantastic resource for musicians and history enthusiasts alike! Would you be using this library for composing or more for historical exploration? 🤔
