“I’ve always loved when it’s hard to tell whether or not a piece of music is an actual sample.

That’s what initially drew me to sample making. But, in the last year or so I feel like I’ve strayed away from that, trying to chase other peoples’ sounds. With Volume 10 I wanted to recapture the feeling I had in the early days of making samples. I wanted to spend more time on creating the feelings, tones, and textures of authentic samples. I wanted to push the juxtaposition more than ever and make a pack that is extremely easy to use. I think I’ve achieved what I set out to do.”

As expected in Oscar’s packs, there’s a blend of organic instruments and synthesizers with a focus on setting the two against each other. Oscar also employed a sample chopping technique on several of the ideas; chopping up the main portion of the composition to create an entirely new idea, further exploring the authentic sample sound.

The pack includes 10 original compositions, but really plays out more like 15-20 due to the drastic changes throughout. Volume 10 is a gold mine for producers that like dramatic switch-ups in their beats, taking inspiration from artists like Travis Scott, Baby Keem, and Drake.
