Gio Israel Greek Essentials Vol 1

The Essentials series by Goi Israel is designed to elevate traditional music of the ancient world through state-of-the-art recording that features some of the world’s foremost musicians.

The roots of Greek music date back to the Byzantine period, where each region of Greece had its own unique style of playing, song style, and even specific musical instruments.

Volume 1 of the series takes us on a tour through the Mediterranean tavernas of the Greek Islands’ coastlines. Featuring a range of traditional local instruments, including the famous Bouzouki guitar, the soulful Cretan Lyra, local percussive instruments, and Greek vocals.
