Created by Sunday Supply resident producer Jimmy Q, the pack was crafted by our team of live musicians at Splice. These original music compositions are nostalgic and reminiscent, evoking images of the classic laid-back sounds of producers like Burt Bacharach and Isaac Hayes. Layered live strings, brass, and drums complement the hard edge of contemporary old school production. Drum sounds and loops were processed through classic analog gear including TEAC reel-to-reel tape for recreations of heavy traditional breaks, newly designed drum one-shots, and programmed beats. Embodying the live elements heard in production styles ranging from J Dilla, The Roots, and Q-Tip to more contemporary artists like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, this pack is perfect for anything classic, boom bap, hip hop, or alternative.
